RAPALA’S “Spotted Dog” was first made famous in the mid-to-late ’80s by Rapala’s Head of International Export, Erkki Norell, as a superb trout and native freshwater lure colour.

Unfortunately, the hot Spotted Dog pattern was in limited supply and avid anglers had to resort to painting their own Rapala lures.

The Spotted Dog pattern is still widely sought after and now for a limited time only, the Rapala CountDown 05 and Rapala Original Floater 07 are available in Spotted Dog, with each individual lure hand-painted by the Rapala factory in Finland.
